Starting August 3rd, barcode scans that don’t belong to the current order in the Single Order Packing screen will immediately display an error instead of searching for another order or tote that matches the barcode.
What’s changing?
Today, when you scan a barcode that isn’t on the current order, ShipHero attempts to determine whether the barcode belongs to:
* A tote with an open order
* An item on another order
Depending on the result, ShipHero may prompt you to switch to the matching order or tote.
Beginning August 3rd, the Single Order Packing screen will skip these lookups and immediately notify you that the scanned barcode does not belong to the current order.
Why are we making this change?
We’re making this change because it:
* Speeds up the packing workflow by eliminating unnecessary barcode lookups.
* Removes prompts that were rarely used.
* Simplifies the packing experience based on customer feedback that the prompts were confusing.
