With the ShipHero MCP, your AI agent already knows whatโ€™s happening in your warehouse. Now, with your authorization, it can take action.
๐Ÿค– Ask your agent to take action
Ask your agent to create orders, resolve holds, build kits, adjust inventory, move stock, create warehouse transfers and purchase orders, process returns and exchanges, record shipments, add 3PL charges, and more.
If the ShipHero Public API supports it, your agent can help you do it from a prompt.
These can be individual actions or multi-step workflows that chain several Public API operations together.
๐Ÿ” You choose the access level
When connecting the ShipHero MCP, you choose the level of access:
  • Read-only:
Ask questions and query your ShipHero data.
  • Read and write:
Allow your agent to create, update, and delete data supported by the ShipHero Public API.
Write access is entirely optional. You can continue using the MCP in read-only mode whenever you do not want your agent to make changes.
โš ๏ธ Powerful by design. Use with care.
A single prompt can change live orders, inventory, shipments, returns, billing data, and more.
The MCP instructs your agent to preview proposed changes and request confirmation before executing a write or batch of writes. This is a best-effort safeguard. Because the agent runs through the AI client and model you choose, confirmation behavior can vary and cannot be guaranteed.
Review every proposed action carefully, especially bulk operations and deletions. Grant write access only to AI clients you trust and only when you need it.
๐Ÿ”„ Existing users may need to reconnect
We updated the authorization flow to support selectable access levels. Some existing connections may need to authorize again, particularly those using Codex.
If your connection stops working after the release, reconnect the ShipHero MCP using the instructions below and select your preferred access level when prompted.
Documentation will be updated with authorization instructions and examples of supported write operations.
